CEVA-MM3000 programmable high-definition video and image processing platform
CEVA released the fully programmable high-definition (HD) video and imaging platform CEVA-MM3000, which is designed for the next generation of connected portable multimedia and home entertainment devices. CEVA will showcase the CEVA-MM3000 platform at a media conference in Beijing.
The low-power platform is based on a heterogeneous (heterogeneous), scalable multi-core architecture, capable of decoding and encoding full HD 1080p video at a frame rate of up to 60fps (frames per second). Advanced video standards such as AVS and VP6 / 7/8, as well as future standards such as Scalable Video Codec (SVC) and Multi-window Video Codec (MulTI-view Video Codec, MVC) for 3D video . Multi-core architecture designed for low power consumption and easy programming
As a unified and coherent structure, CEVA-MM3000 uses a multi-core heterogeneous method to meet the extreme and variable processing requirements in video and image signal processing. The core of the platform contains two dedicated processors, a Stream Processor and a Vector Processor, all of which constitute a complete multi-core system, including local and shared memory, peripherals, DMA and Standard bridge to external bus. This complete (comprehensive, integrated) multi-core platform is designed to meet the low power requirements of mobile devices. For example, H.264 HP decoding at 1080p 30fps requires power consumption as low as 150mW when using 40nm process devices.
The stream processor is responsible for code stream encoding, code stream operation, and control code execution, while the vector processor performs filtering and vector operations for pixel processing. Both the stream processor and the vector processor are designed for easy programming and are supported by an optimized C compiler and an application profiler (applicaTIon profiler). CEVA can provide authorized manufacturers with a set of pre-optimized video cores for the above two processors to achieve the flexibility of combining efficient low-level code with rapid C-level development.
