Introduction to Vortex Tube
The vortex tube, also known as a vortex tube, is a device that can operate efficiently using standard compressed air. It instantly separates the compressed air into two streams: one hot and one cold. At the outlet of the hot air, there is an adjustable knob that allows users to control the balance between cold and hot air, adjusting both temperature and airflow. The concept of the vortex tube was first discovered by a French student in 1922. It wasn't until the 1960s that the technology was commercialized. Over decades of development and innovation by engineers around the world, vortex tube technology has become highly advanced and is now widely used across various industries globally.
Vortex Tube Principle:
As illustrated below, when compressed air enters the vortex chamber of the tube, it spins at speeds up to one million revolutions per minute. Most of the air exits through the hot gas end (on the right), while a portion is directed through a control valve. The remaining air continues to rotate in the opposite direction within the inner ring and exits from the cold air end (on the left). During this process, heat is transferred between the two streams. The inner stream cools down significantly and exits as cold air, while the outer stream becomes very hot and exits from the right side. By adjusting the valve on the hot gas end, users can control the temperature and flow rate of the cold air. The higher the proportion of hot air released, the colder the air at the cold end becomes, though the flow rate will decrease accordingly.
Jixin JESON Vortex Tube Features:
One of the key advantages of the Jixin JESON vortex tube is that it requires no electricity—only compressed air is needed. This makes it ideal for use in high-temperature environments where traditional cooling systems might fail. Additionally, the device does not contain any harmful chemicals like refrigerants, and it has no moving parts or friction components, ensuring a long service life of up to 10 years.
The Jixin vortex tube is lightweight, weighing less than 300 grams, making it easy to install and use in various applications. Its internal structure is made of stainless steel, with the core component, the eddy current generator, crafted from brass. This design is more durable compared to other similar products that are often made from plastic, which can crack or break over time. The internal sealing O-ring is made from fluororubber, offering better resistance to high temperatures and wear, unlike the nitrile rubber commonly used in other models.
Thanks to its simple and robust design, the Jixin vortex tube is maintenance-free. Users only need to ensure the air supply is clean. Even if the air source isn’t perfectly clean or is used for extended periods, the unit can be easily disassembled and cleaned without requiring complex repairs. This makes it a reliable and cost-effective solution for industrial cooling needs.
