Nichicon Co., Ltd. has introduced the LV series (ULV) and LT series (ULT), high-voltage chip aluminum electrolytic capacitors designed for automotive ballasts, energy-saving LED lighting, and power supplies. These products are especially tailored for applications requiring high voltage, compact size, long life, and high reliability. The LV series offers a rated voltage of up to 500V at 105°C with a 10,000-hour lifespan, while the LT series provides 500V at 125°C with a 2,000-hour guarantee.

The new lineup was showcased at the 2014 Power System Exhibition held at Tokyo Big Sight from July 23rd to 25th. This development reflects Nichicon’s ongoing commitment to meeting the evolving needs of the electronics industry, particularly in the growing market for LED lighting and efficient power systems.

With increasing demand for smaller, more powerful components, Nichicon has focused on enhancing the performance of its aluminum electrolytic capacitors. By leveraging advanced electrolyte technology and high-rate foils, the company has achieved industry-leading durability and stability under extreme conditions.

The LV series and LT series are available in three standard sizes: φ8×10L, φ10×10L, and φ10×13.5L. They come in various capacitance values ranging from 1.8μF to 33μF, making them suitable for a wide range of applications. The products also comply with the RoHS directive, ensuring environmental responsibility and safety.

Sample availability began in October 2014, with mass production following shortly after. The sample price is approximately 100 yen per unit, depending on the series. Manufacturing takes place at Nichicon Iwate Co., Ltd., located at 8-17-1, Iwate, Iwate. The facility is certified under ISO9001, ISO/TS16949, and ISO14001, ensuring quality and sustainability in every product.
