Huawei uses Cypress's TrueTouch touchscreen solution in its four smartphones

Gen4 TrueTouch controller has the industry's best gloved touch tracking capability; strong customer design support capabilities promote the wider use of smartphones in China

Cypress Semiconductor Corporation has announced that Huawei has adopted Cypress's TrueTouch® touchscreen controller in its four smartphones. Two of them use TrueTouch Gen4 controller to achieve precise navigation when wearing thick gloves, so users do not have to take off their gloves in cold weather to operate. Gen4 can also achieve the industry's best touch screen performance in an electronic noise environment that has plagued the industry caused by chargers and displays and caused the touch screen to not work properly. Huawei chose Cypress because of Cypress's powerful TrueTouch design support team in China and TrueTouch's industry-leading performance and functionality.

Huawei Ascend G700, A199 and Ascend G610 smartphones all use Gen4 controllers, while Ascend G526 uses Gen3 controllers. The Gen4 series has Cypress's DualSense â„¢ patented technology, which can perform self-capacitance and mutual-capacitance sensing in the same chip and dynamically switch during operation. It is precisely because of this ability that it makes glove touch, stylus support, face recognition during calls to avoid accidental touch, and TrueTouch's unmatched waterproof ability become possible.

Zhang Shuo, vice president of global mobile phone sales at Cypress, said: "We are pleased that Huawei has adopted TrueTouch to enhance its brand image of" high-quality mobile phones with innovative features. "The demand for smartphones in China is growing rapidly, and our strong presence in China The design support team helped us quickly win the favor of many new mobile phone manufacturers. We are honored to be the main supplier of Huawei touch screen controllers. "Gen4 has a series of unmatched technologies from competitors. It is the only controller series with built-in 10V Tx in the world, which can drive touch screen with 10V voltage. Since the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is directly proportional to the screen drive voltage, this feature allows Cypress controllers to sense weaker signals than competitors in high-noise environments.

Touch Leader

Cypress has the widest and most widely used touch sensing product line in the industry, including TrueTouch, CapSense® and TrackPad solutions. Cypress has an unparalleled IP set, including a true single-layer sensor solution that can significantly reduce the cost of touch screens, and self-capacitance and mutual-capacitance sensing technology on the same chip, which can be used to implement advanced functions such as Waterproof, proximity sensing, support 1mm stylus, and hovering.

Applications:

The use of a K-rated transformer is anywhere non-linear loads are present. Prime uses would be in factory automation, computer rooms, and office buildings because of the high harmonic content in these areas, Typically a K-13 rated transformer is sufficient for most applications.  UL recognizes K-factor values of 4, 9, 13, 20, 30, 40 and 50. The K-factor number tells us how much a transformer must be de-rated to handle a definite non-linear load or, conversely, how much it must be oversized to handle the same load.

How to choose your K factor transformer?

K1: standard transformers, standard lighting, motors.

K4: Induction heater, SCR, AC drive

K13: School pulse lighting, hospital

K20: Data processing computer, computer room.
