GLII released "2014 China LED Chip Industry Research Report"

According to statistics from the High-tech LED Industry Research Institute (GLII), the output value of China's LED chip industry reached 8.4 billion yuan in 2013, an increase of 17% over 2012. Compared with the 20% growth rate in 2012, the growth rate of the LED chip industry in 2013 has slowed down, mainly due to the continuous rapid decline in prices. Entering 2014, benefiting from the continued high growth of downstream LED lighting market demand to drive shipment growth, and the decline in chip prices has slowed significantly, China's LED chip industry has shown a good momentum of development. According to statistics from the High-tech LED Industry Research Institute (GLII), in the first half of 2014, the output value of LED China LED chip industry reached 4.87 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 21%.

In terms of MOCVD, the number of MOCVD in China's LED industry increased to 1017 units in 2013, compared with 917 units in 2012, a net increase of 100 units. However, considering the impact of the voluntary withdrawal of the old machine, the actual number of newly added MOCVD in China in 2013 exceeded 130. In 2013, China's MOCVD capacity utilization rate has increased, from about 30% in 2012 to around 52%. In the first half of 2014, China's MOCVD holdings grew steadily. According to the latest statistics of GLII, as of the end of the first half of 2014, the number of MOCVDs in China has increased to 1,090 units, a net increase of 73 units compared with the beginning of the year. In the first half of 2014, China's MOCVD capacity utilization rate has increased to about 55%.
