Last year's output increased by more than 18%

       In March 2006, Taiwan Chimei Electronic Module Project was settled in Foshan, mainly engaged in the processing and manufacturing of liquid crystal modules. In the first phase of the project, a number of liquid crystal display module production lines were built, with product sizes ranging from 26 to 65 inches and production capacity exceeding 10 million pieces per year.

       Chimei's presence has provided a good platform for Foshan to develop upstream panels and accessories for the optoelectronic display industry and downstream TV sets. Upstream and downstream industrial chain manufacturers such as Lingzhan Optoelectronics, Junling Electronics, Hecheng Communication, Weijin Optoelectronics, etc., have successively settled in Foshan. A group of TV manufacturers with considerable strength, such as Guangdong Hisense, Foshan Chaoye Technology and Guangdong Hita, also gradually grew up in Foshan. The presence of Guangdong Flat Panel Display Industry Technology Research Institute further promoted the integrated manufacturing innovation of LCD TVs, and Foshan's optoelectronic display industry began to develop rapidly. At present, the “Nanhai model” LCD TV module developed by the institute has reduced the cost of LCD TV manufacturing by more than 20%, and has been adopted by more than 59 color TV companies in China.

       According to the latest data from the Information Industry Bureau, in 2009, the output value of Foshan Optoelectronics Display Industry increased by more than 18%. The output value of only LCD modules and their supporting enterprises was close to 25 billion yuan, and the annual output of LCD modules exceeded 10 million. At the same time, it has a large number of upstream and downstream enterprises including TV manufacturing, LCD module production and OLED panel manufacturing.

       The reporter recently learned from Guangdong Zhongxian Technology Co., Ltd. that according to the scheduled plan, China's first low-temperature polysilicon TFT AMOLED display will be off the assembly line at the end of March. The company’s chief executive, Huang Wei, said with enthusiasm: “The success of this project means that China’s flat panel display technology with independent intellectual property rights is officially among the world’s leading.”

       In addition to the cooperation between Guangdong Zhongxian Technology and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the first phase of investment of 500 million Hong Kong dollars, will build a number of full-color AMOLED display production line in China's first low-temperature polysilicon AMOLED industrialization project, Rainbow Group settled in Foshan last year, the first phase of OLED project An AMOLED production line with the current international mainstream level will also be introduced.
