**Foreword:** I've been thinking about writing this review for a while now, but I always struggled to find the right motivation. Maybe it's because this speaker isn't available in China, so I'm sharing my personal experience here, hoping it might help someone who's looking for a purchase reference. Another reason is that there are so many wireless speaker brands and models on the market these days, making it hard to choose. Monster, as a brand, doesn’t seem to be getting much attention, which is why I decided to write this up anyway. If you're interested in this kind of product, I hope my thoughts can be useful. I chose the S3, the largest one, as shown below.   --- **First, Speaker Specifications** When choosing a speaker, I always start with the technical specs. However, there’s not much detailed information available online about this model, such as chipsets or frequency response. So I'll focus on what I could find. - **Channels:** 2.1 channel system - **Units:** Two high-frequency drivers on either side of the front, and an 11cm woofer at the center of the back. - **Interfaces:** Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, AUX, Optical, NFC - **Power:** Approximately 70W - **Dimensions:** ~41 x 15 x 10 cm - **Weight:** Around 3kg You can see the front and back unit layouts in the images below. The top panel is made of artificial leather, while the rest is black plastic. Some gaps are noticeable, but overall, it's still well-constructed and feels solid. --- **Second, User Experience** **(A) Control Interface** The control system is split between the main unit and your smartphone. On the speaker itself, there are touch buttons.  *Power button*  *Red touch key (sensitive, long press)*  *WIFI indicator when fully lit*  *Only source status when off* To turn it off, press the power button for 3 seconds. One downside is that it takes about 30 seconds to boot up, which is a bit slow. Since it doesn’t have a built-in battery, it needs to be plugged in, so it’s not very portable. But the handle design makes it easy to move around the house. There's also an official app, but I found it mostly unnecessary beyond playing local music.  --- **Third, Sound Quality** Sound quality is both objective and subjective. From the size, driver configuration, and power, it's clear this speaker is more than just a basic model. It has a good soundstage, better than most wireless speakers in its class. The bass is strong and punchy, definitely better than smaller models. However, there's no dedicated tweeter, so the treble lacks some clarity. I personally don’t mind it too much, as the vocals are smooth and pleasant. High frequencies can sometimes feel harsh, so I prefer a balanced sound. As for decoding capabilities, there’s little information available, and I couldn’t find any internal chip details. --- **Final Thoughts** This speaker is often compared to the Sonos Play:5, but I think they’re not really comparable. They serve different purposes and have different features. At around $200, I think it's worth the price. However, it seems to be out of stock on Amazon, or maybe it's just not selling well. Monster's marketing for this product is pretty weak — they don’t know how to promote it effectively. If the price were between $100 and $150, it would be even more cost-effective. That's all from me.
