The facial recognition system uses NVIDIA’s powerful chips to support AnyVision’s identity platform. Cameras equipped with this technology can recognize and track individuals both indoors and outdoors. Real-time data is sent back to a central system where it is analyzed by algorithms and monitoring tools. The captured images are then compared against a database for identification purposes.
AnyVision hasn’t specified which social media data will be used, but they claim that their technology can detect, track, and identify individuals with over 99% accuracy. The Israeli startup aims to use this system to locate missing people, identify criminals, and prevent terrorist activities, ultimately making cities safer.
In a blog post, AnyVision stated, “By leveraging NVIDIA technology, existing CCTV systems can be upgraded into intelligent networks of smart cameras, enabling us to enhance urban safety with real-time insights.†They also emphasized their commitment to protecting personal data collected by these cameras. Additionally, AnyVision has developed an app that allows security teams to access location and photo data on mobile devices.
This technology is already being applied in ATM machines, where it compares the face of the account holder with real-time images to prevent fraud. It is also being used in high-security areas like prisons, campuses, and entertainment venues. In such places, the system can identify unauthorized individuals and send alerts to managers.
Moreover, AnyVision claims that facial recognition can help prevent scammers and banned individuals from entering venues, even if they wear sunglasses, hats, or beards. This advancement comes from NVIDIA’s metropolitan software initiative, which aims to build smarter cities using deep learning techniques.
According to NVIDIA’s website, “By 2020, we plan to deploy over one billion cameras in cities to solve complex troubleshooting issues.†The company is also exploring video-based traffic light systems to ease congestion. Additionally, NVIDIA wants to install cameras on traffic lights to help drivers find parking spaces and improve infrastructure maintenance.
