Domestically planned to phase out incandescent lamps in 2018

Recently, the National Development and Reform Commission is drafting an "incandescence lamp elimination road map". It is tentatively planned that no more than 100 watt incandescent lamps will be produced after 2015, and incandescent lamps will be phased out completely by 2018. Among all lighting fixtures, incandescent lamps have the lowest efficiency, and only 12% to 18% of the power they consume can be converted into light energy. The rest is lost in the form of heat energy, and the service life is not high. It does not exceed 1000 hours.

In 2010, the Australian government launched the world's first plan to disable incandescent lamps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, the EU, the United States, and other countries have already proposed incandescent lamp phase-out schedules. In December 2007, China began to implement a financial subsidy system for the promotion of efficient lighting products. In July 2009, it initiated joint efforts with the United Nations Development Programme and the Global Environment Facility. China gradually phased out incandescent lamps and accelerated the promotion of energy-saving lamp projects."

According to statistics from the China Lighting Association, there are currently more than 10,000 lighting manufacturers in China, mainly in Guangdong, Fujian, and Zhejiang. Too many manufacturers, if eliminated all at once, will have many negative effects and need to be phased out.

Relatively speaking, this policy is good for large companies in the industry. Large enterprises have sufficient time and strength to prepare for the transition. In addition, after many countries proposed a phase-out schedule, incandescent lamp manufacturers in other countries have suspended production, which also provided opportunities for the export of incandescent lamps in China.

However, energy-saving lamps are not perfect compared to incandescent lamps. For example, fluorescent lamps in energy-saving lamps will generate mercury pollution. How to recycle waste lamps is a big problem. Although LED energy-saving lamps do not have pollution, they are currently expensive. With the price reduction of LED products in the future, LED lighting will be popularized.
