LSI Logic recently announced the ZEVIOTM 1020 multimedia application processor, the first standard chip based on the ZEVIO architecture. The ZEVIO architecture was announced earlier this year.

The ZEVIO 1020 solution delivers optimal cost performance at the lowest power consumption through multiple distributed processing tasks running at optimal speeds. The ZEVIO 1020 processor is highly integrated, including a general-purpose ARM9 core, a multimedia-processed ZSP400 core (eg, H.264 BP video decoding, etc.), as well as a 3D graphics core and a 2D/3D MIDI sound core. It also integrates a video DAC (digital to analog converter) for direct output to the TV and an SDIO (Secure Digital Input/Output) card slot for data storage or additional peripheral expansion.
