LCD TVs cut prices by up to 30%

With the implementation date of “flat-panel TV energy efficiency limit and energy efficiency rating” approaching, major mainstream color TV manufacturers have taken advantage of double-season selling seasons to lower prices, especially high-power LCD TVs, with a drop of up to 30%.

LCD TVs become color TV enterprises to clear their goals

Previously, LCD TVs on the market were mostly CCFL-LCD (hereinafter referred to as "LCD") TVs, which were primary products of LCD TVs at the beginning stage. Since this year, LED-LCD (hereinafter referred to as "LED") has become the new darling of major color TV companies and the direction encouraged by national policies because of its more energy-saving and relatively small brightness attenuation.

Yesterday, when the reporter visited the supermarkets, it was found that LCD TVs “spilling down 1,000 yuan” and “straight down 1,400 yuan” can be seen everywhere. Hisense LCD TVs have achieved the highest price reduction by 30%. Salespersons in the mall told reporters that ordinary LCD TVs consume a lot of power, and the market will become smaller and smaller under the background of energy saving and emission reduction. Most manufacturers hope to thoroughly digest inventory before the implementation of flat TV energy efficiency standards on December 1. "Eleventh" is the prime time for color TV sales. At present, the color TV brands have been adjusted to the promotional price during the "11" period, with a large margin of preference.

According to energy efficiency standards, flat-panel TVs are divided into three levels. Level 1 represents the best energy-saving effect, Level 2 is the energy-saving product evaluation level, and Level 3 is the market access level. This means that flat-panel TVs do not achieve level 3 energy efficiency. Standard, will be eliminated. According to the data released by the National Radio and TV Products Quality Supervision and Inspection Center in July, the proportion of the above three-tier LCD TVs was 2.4%, 10.8%, and 72.3% respectively, and 14.5% of the products did not meet the standards, and will be withdrawn as new standards are implemented. .

Energy-saving standards encourage companies to switch to LED

Recently, the China Electronic Chamber of Commerce and the Digital TV Standard Compliance Testing Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology once again tested the mainstream flat-panel TVs on the market. The test results were very different from those in July. All the products submitted to the inspection met the requirements of the third-level energy efficiency, and 70% more. The product meets Class 1 energy efficiency standards. Zhang Subing, deputy director of the center, said that in the inspection model, energy-saving TVs accounted for more than 60%, of which LED TV products can reach the level of energy efficiency of up to 90%, making the proportion of high-energy efficiency products increased.

Recognizing the shrinking of the LCD TV market, mainstream TV companies such as Hisense, Skyworth, Samsung, and Sharp have adopted LED TV as the main force for promotion in the second half of the year. Liu Wei, deputy general manager of Tongfang’s multimedia industry division, said that the proportion of LED-backlit TV panels purchased by various manufacturers will show a rapid growth, which also highlights the importance of LED products. Skyworth and Tsinghua Tongfang also extended their tentacles to the upstream LED chip field, hoping to win the battle for the LED market through the advantages of the industry chain.

Energy-saving TV is expected to enjoy state subsidies

At present, China’s color TV products have a guaranteed volume of around 350 million units, and nearly 90% of them are non-energy-saving products. This indicates that there is a huge market space for China’s energy-saving flat-panel TVs. With such a huge market, will the government provide energy-saving televisions with energy-saving subsidies similar to air-conditioning? It is understood that according to the current energy-saving projects, consumers will receive a subsidy of up to 250 yuan for primary and secondary energy-efficient air-conditioning products.

Lu Jiebo, deputy secretary-general of the China Electronic Chamber of Commerce and famous home appliance expert, pointed out that flat-panel TVs are one of the highest value products for home appliances. After the smooth implementation of energy efficiency standards, it is expected that relevant government authorities will consider incorporating flat-panel TV products into energy-saving benefits as well. Among civilian projects, subsidies are used to promote the popularity of energy-saving products.
